The Episcopal Church Welcomes You

Whether it is time to laugh or time to weep (Ecc 3:4), the Episcopal Church of the Atonement’s website extends a welcome to join “together as a church family.”

Photos with babies, elders and teens impart a family feel.  There is a page dedicated to Youth News, and a mention under Ministries of the annual Everybody’s Birthday Party, which honors “two of the oldest Atonement members.”  From Sunday School to the Senior Choir, this is a church for all ages.

The Our History section highlights an early vicar who “greatly increased the congregation’s knowledge of the teachings of the church,” an excellent on-site pre-school during the 1960s and 70s, and the establishment of an Atonement College Scholarship Fund – details which dovetail with a new rector who previously worked in a public school system, and Adult Bible Classes that meet “every week of the year”!

Atonement’s Mission and Ministries, as portrayed online, give us the sense that this parish believes it’s always a good time, a time to teach or learn, to pray and worship, and to empower each other to actively participate in their church home and wider community.
