The Episcopal Church has been very instrumental part in my life. I used to be very active in the church as well as well as the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina. I attended many conferences, youth events, and convention. I would like to take this opportunity first and foremost to thank the Episcopal Church Center for taking the time to bring us together here in to listen to our questions, comments, and concern. I think that this has been a powerful weekend and it has provided me with a lot of insight from my peers, who are much like me and have some how gotten lost during the transition into adult hood. In leaving home for college I really lost contact with the Episcopal Church. There was nothing really there to help bridge the gap between me and the church. I feel as though us as young adults are not needed and are not taken seriously within the church. I have visited several parishes in the town in which I currently reside and it is not a very welcoming atmosphere, either you are being looked at funny or whispered about. I think it is imperative that the church realize that the young adults are the future of the church. The older generation of saints are dying and if something isn't done soon the Episcopal Church as we know will be a thing of the past.
